My list of books I put forard is:

1. WAIFS AND STRAYS - CHARLES DE LINT (a wonderful collection of his short stories that are a great introduction to his work)

2. HIGH FIDELITY - NICK HORNBY (my favourite of all of his books, a must for book and music lovers)

3. THE BLACK JEWELS TRILOGY - ANNE BISHOP (dark fantasy at it's best, somehow particularly suited to female readers I think)

4. INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE - ANNE RICE (where The Vampire Chronicles all began)

5. THE MAGICIANS NEPHEW - CS LEWIS (the first in the Narnia series and often sadly neglected. Perhaps my favourite in the series)

6. THE LOOKING GLASS WARS - FRANK BEDDOR (a wonderful re-telling of Alice in Wonderland which turns the whole tale on it's head. Found in the teenage reading/young adult section but will appeal to older readers too)

7. THE GOOSE GIRL - SHANNON HALE (a fairy tale re-telling I just finished reading and fell in love with. Highly recommended)

8. LOLITA - VLADIMIR NABOKOV (classic tale of man loves young girl, disturbing but one of the most beautifully written books I have ever read)

9. DAUGHTER OF THE FOREST - JULIET MARILLIER (the first in the Sevenwaters Trilogy based on a fairy tale set in Celtic times)

10. THE HANDMAIDS TALE - Margaret Atwood (everyone should read this dystopian novel)

I know that for people who read this blog it is a pretty standard list for me, but I can't help what I like!

What I hope to read are:

2. Stardust - Neil Gaiman (Becky)

3. Tamsin - Peter S Beagle (prplpen)

There are lots more I hope to read if possible like Inkheart (Cornelia Funke), The Princess Bride (William Goldman), Howls Moving Castle (Dianna Wynne Jones) and Moonheart (Charles de Lint).

At night time light a small fire in a cauldron or what ever you have available to contain the fire. Cut out a piece of paper that is 3 inches by 3 inches. Draw a heart on it and color it in with red. Write the name of the name of the person that you desire on the heart. While doing all this be thinking of this person being Attracted to you and not being able to resist you! Think of his his or her heart burning with desire for you just like the flames of the fire. Then kiss the name on the heart 3 times. Place the paper in the fire while saying these Words 3 times. Do so with utmost sincerity...

Do you want to be irresistible to love or money? Here's how:

Dill is a very versatile herb that can be to dispel negative energy, and to attract money or love. The smell of dill is often enough to stimulate lust and other such feelings. Eating or bathing in dill can make you irresistible to those you desire.

MAGICKAL CLEANSING AND LIFTING A 'CURSE'

Recently I worked in a small office with many young women from very superstitious backgrounds. I was astonished at the number of them who came to me (once it got out that I was a witch) telling me that they were sure someone had placed a curse on them or their family, and asking me if I could do anything about it. In my opinion many of them were too ready to believe in a supernatural explanation for any small thing that happened to them, and because they believed they were cursed, they drew bad luck to them.

Please don't assume, just because you have a run of bad luck, that you've been cursed or hexed or ill-wished. It can lead to all sorts of nasty assumptions and accusations of (usually) innocent people. Even people who claim they have cursed you, or will do so, are often bluffing. (I know - I used to try and bluff my way past high school bullies with that one, and sometimes it did scare them off, at least temporarily. I never carried out the threat, though). If you've wronged someone in the past, even unintentionally, don't assume that they're behind your current misfortune; it's more likely that the law of returns is at work. Get out there and do something positive to change your luck for the better.

If you have been suffering from a series of mishaps or bad luck, there are things you can do to turn it around. The first thing I advise is to clean the cobwebs out - literally! Clean up your room, your office space, your whole house if you can. Do as much of the following as you can:

Get rid of clutter. It develops an atmosphere of stagnation and prevents movement, both literally and symbolically. Visualize yourself Turing out all the unwanted energies from your life, ridding yourself of negativity and doubt and fear.

Open up all your windows (and doors, if possible). It's best to do this on a sunny day, naturally. Throw them wide open to receive the cleansing and blessings of the sun and wind.

Wash down as many washable surface areas as you can with some kind of liquid on which a blessing has been performed. You can use an elaborate ritual blessing or something quick like 'Lady and Lord, bless this water for purification, protection and love'. Suggestions: water in which some chopped-up lemons have been steeped overnight, or rosemary infusion; either one smells good as well as adding a nice protective touch.

Next, cleanse the area with a purifying incense; you can use a blend, or one of the following alone: cedar, frankincense, copal, gum arabic. If you can't stand the smell of incense, use an essential oil burner, carried on a tray or in a baking dish to guard your hands. Use purifying and protective oils; I like a few drops each of sandal-wood, frankincense and myrrh, and a drop of lemon. Walk through the entire area, holding the incense/burner up so that its fragrance penetrates every corner. I sometimes like to sprinkle blessed salt water about, and to set white candles burning merrily in every room (do this *after* closing the doors and windows!). You can add a chant while sprinkling/fumigating/
lighting; I like 'Banished be, negativity!', it's short but to the point.

Finally, when the area smells all clean and holy, looks clean and is blazing with light, sit down and enjoy. Eat something, preferably something bready;
you'll need it after all that work, and it'll help ground you in your newly cleansed space.

Once all this is over and you've recovered from the work, cast a few spells to get things moving, and to pull some good fortune your way... such as my Good Luck Spell.

GOOD LUCK SPELL

It's best to perform this one while the moon is waxing. For this spell you'll need a candle to represent yourself in whatever color you think appropriate, a gray candle, a black candle and an orange candle.

Light the candle that represents yourself and say: 'This is me, me in all things'.

Light the black candle and say: 'This is all the bad luck that has dragged my footsteps. Trouble, disappointments and tears are here. This bad luck now leaves me forever'.

Light the gray candle and say: 'All that was bad is neutralized. All my bad luck is dissolved'.

Light the orange candle and say: 'This is the energy coming my way, to get my life moving and speed up the change'.

Sit quietly for a while and visualize the negative energies being whisked into the gray candle and dissolved into empty nothingness. Visualize the orange candle drawing good energy and good luck towards you, see the air stirring about with possibilities and opportunities. Let the candles burn down completely (take the usual safety precautions).

This spell is very different from all those other ones out there. However this one was created by my own psychic mind. Maybe a past Egypt life... what spirits lies on top of the pyramids of Egypt is still 88.8% unknown. Anyway start with four (4) candles (doesn't matter what color), and you need two cups of water.. Try to find an old maybe antic cup. Then you would need any kind of ash that will make a dark (black) circle around the cups. Then you need shells (it can be nut shells, sea shells or turkey bones) DO HIS AT TIME OF GOING TO BED. Follow this diagram

It should be setup like this:

If you study this 'chart' you will know the 7 star of the universe.

1) Light all the candles while lighting keep your intention in your mind.
2) Take some ash (that is around the cup and candles) and with your thumb, place a fingerprint of ash on your forehead. If you do not have ash... try burning some paper and keeping your intention to it while burning.
3) Say a prayer right after you fingerprint your self. Wait a while and they lift both the cup in the air and lightly bang them together three (3) times and place them back into the exact spot.
4) When you wake up in the morning blow out the candles and let the some rise in the morning air. Then quickly take all they candles and drip the wax into both cups of water. And leave the wax that spilled on your desk or table alone for it is a symbol that can carry a message or used for protection for the spell.
5) Just before you leave to school, work, or where ever dip your thumb into the cup of water and again press your thumb against your forehead, leaving the wetness on your head... AND FEEL GREAT TO BE YOU! HAVE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE!

This spell I made my own version... and it works quite well!

This must be done on the Proper Day and Hour of Jupiter. I will explain more in a bit.
You will need a Green Candle and a White Candle. The Green candle represents the money, and the white candle represents you. Make sure you annoint the candles with oil first, thinking of your desire for money to come to you. Set the candles on your alter or table 8 inches apart. After doing this say...

"Money, money come to me
In abundance three times three
May I be enriched in the best of ways
Harming none on its way
This I accept, so mote it be
Bring me money three times three!"

You need to start this Spell on a Thursday which is the Day of Jupiter and at the proper hour of Jupiter for your Latitude and Longitude. Repeat this for 8 days. Each day move the White Candle one inch closer to the Green Candle. When the Candles touch, your spell is finished. This will end the Spell on a Thursday as well. Each day you should find the proper Planetary Hour of Jupiter and do the Spell at that time. This will give it much more Power. Jupiter is associatied with Money.

Make sure you visualize the money pouring in from the Universe but make sure you imagine a source of where that money will come from... and don't ask for the Lotto.... it's not gonna happen.

CLOUD EYE RITE


You will need:

An open space
Dry ice
Passivity


Open by whatever means feels appropriate.

Set the dry ice in the center of the working area.

Participants circle deosil around the ice, chanting "Ka ao opua lua" (the sharp
pointed living cloud). In the Hawaiian legends, this was the name of the Kapula
of the cloud people.

Circling and chanting continue for 10-15 minutes. When done, all sit down in a
circle as close to the ice as possible.

All stare into the fog rising from the ice until tunnel vision sets in (the
field of vision goes black except for the object focused upon).

At the moment that tunnel vision occurs, say:

As below, so above
The cloud is in my eye
Ka ao opua loa
Carry my sight.


Participants begin spinning at increasing speed with eye closed, all the while
repeating:

Tenfemet Douck

When spinning is no longer possible, participants lie on their backs and open
the eyes completely (no squinting) and focus on the first cloud they see.

All repeat:

As above, so below
My eye is in the cloud
Phenomenize the cloud eye

Visualize a fog exactly like that rising from the dry ice leaving the eyes and
rushing up to join with the clouds. Observe it entirely, passively and with the
inner voice, repeat:

This self is Tenfermet Douck
The cloud that sees.

When tunnel vision again sets in, close the eyes and open them again quickly.
Look down over the terrain that passes below your cloud eye. Note details if
desired, but do not attempt to Influence direction or speed of motion. All
control of these should be left to the wind.

When you have achieved your desired results, switch out of the passive mode and
attempt to influence direction or speed. Find Yourself back in your Human Body
looking up at the clouds.

Banish with laughter and leave the circle.

Materials:
A white candle
A picture of the person or just a small piece of paper to put the persons name.

Get the white Candle and light it up (at night Before you go to sleep) and say:

"To see the truth, to know the way, I cast a spell in every day, buy the power of three,
I Conjure thee to give thy truth, unto me."

Then blow out the candle while saying the persons name you want to put the truth spell on.
In the morning, light the candle again, say the spell again and say the person aloud, then
blow out the candle while saying the persons name... and say it Through the smoke of the
candle so it can work.

HOW TO CAST A SPELL

A spell is nothing but a story (from an old word "spelen," to "tell a story").

You've had spells cast on you all your life, without knowing it.

When your father called you "lazy," or "stupid," or "sloppy," or "a failure,"
he was casting a spell on you. Most likely, you still act the way your father
(or mother) said you were.

And you've cast spells on yourself all your life, without knowing it. Whenever
you say the words "I can't" you are casting a spell of failure on yourself.
Whenever you tell someone they give you a headache, you are casting a headache
spell on yourself.

Learning to Cast Spells is learning how to control your own life.

You can cast a spell simply by telling yourself a story out loud, alone or with
friends.

You can cast a spell by thinking a story to yourself.

You can cast a spell by acting out a story. (This is the purpose of ritual, of
course.)

And you can cast a spell by wearing or carrying a physical object that
constantly reminds you of the story (an amulet).

A spell works simply because it is spoken. Strong emotions are not necessary.
You don't even have to believe it to make it happen.

Try it. Start each day by saying to yourself: "Today, I am going to receive
some money" (or "will make a new friend," etc.) See what happens.

One caution: Be careful what you wish for -- you WILL get it!

And remember the ancient rede: "An ye harm none, do what you will." This
means that we cannot cast a spell concerning another person (with the possible
exception of a healing spell) without their consent. Any interference in
another person's life force is unacceptable.

STRENGTHENING SPELL



This works well as a group, but can also be used as a solitary.
Take a purifying bath. Use your favorite incense.

Cast the circle and then think of all the Things That strengthen you.
Say them aloud if you can:

I become strong Through facing my fears.
I become strong Through my friends who support me.
I become strong through my family that loves me unconditionally.
I become strong through making mistakes.
I become strong through taking a stand.
I become strong through dreaming.

Add whatever you feel moved to add.

Chant and raise power. Sit quietly within your circle and reabsorb the power
that all these things continue to give you. Release the circle when you are
finished.

Here is a simple chant that I find strengthens me:

"We are an old people,
we are a new people,
we are the same people,
stronger than before.
I am a strong [wo]man,
I am a healer,
and my soul will never die."

Repeat until you feel the energy strengthen you.

Love could have different meanings for us. It could mean happiness, appreciation or recognition. We all crave to be loved by someone we love. Love can make every moment of life worth remembering. "Kaunata, tattala ni (name of the person) Kaunata, ka tashi a safiyar gabgab-gab da ni"

This love spell is only effective once you associate it with the above-mentioned conditions. Remember, love spells require obedience. It is an art, a magic, a supernatural action done by the believers! Continue doing this spell for 7 weeks. Continue wearing your special scent and be the most charming person!

Love can be a great feeling if it had grown naturally, and once you have it genuinely, it could make your happiness grow and be there permanently. If you want to make a love last long, just keep in mind that love spells are there to lead you. And when the spell expires, you are accountable with the actions you might do in order to have that love grow naturally and be nurtured without the spell.

Spells for love could even be better if they are used in proper ways and with good intentions. Love can never be controlled by us, it could only grow freely if it is intended to grow.

Meditate for as long as necessary again. The Calliech will appear in the circle
or in your mind and give you the advice you need on your spiritual journey.

Working:

Trace a banishing pentagram over the cauldron in which the cup of tea is placed.
Place your hands over the cauldron and say:
