Energies Of The Waning Moon

Energies Of The Waning Moon Image
As I am writing this, we are only two days into the waning Moon, but it is time to think of all the things we have to do before the Moon is dark again. This phase of the Moon favors completion, letting go, and finishing things off. It is not the time to begin new projects since the energy of this cycle is diminishing, and you will find yourself less apt to follow through when the new cycle begins. I have a new project that I am so anxious to start, but it is going to have to wait if I want it to be a success.

The waning Moon is a time for "getting rid of" which means that any workings you do are going to be much more effective if you put yourself into that mindset first. Clear yourself of unfinished business now, clearing the way and freeing you to take advantage of the new opportunities that will come about at the new Moon.

The waning Moon is associated with the Crone aspect of the Goddess, and the Mage aspect of the God. Now is also the time for you to engage in those activities which increase your own wisdom. Think of a plan and begin to act on it. This cycle of the Moon can be just as powerful and productive as any of the other Moon phases, or it can be a time of decreased activity and increased rest. It's all up to you.

Honor your existence. Be aware of the smells around you, the creatures and the plants, the tastes of all you eat and the dreams that fill your idle time. Grant yourself time to live this day in many dimensions.

Spells For The Solitary Witch

Spells For The Solitary Witch Cover

Book: Spells For The Solitary Witch by Eileen Holland

This book "Spells for the Solitary Witch" focuses on spells and spell work specifically for the solitary practitioner. Clear and easy to follow, Spells for the Solitary Witch explains how to prepare and cast spells 87 spells in all together with the materials needed for each spell and the incantations to say that will ensure the best results. Tailored to the needs of solitary witches, Holland suggests alternatives to hard-to-find ingredients, as well as directions about where to find specific ingredients crucial to a spells success.

Written by a solitary witch and Wiccan priestess herself, Spells For The Solitary Witch is a simple walkthrough of ways to release hidden power for health, wellness, emotional enrichiment, and environmental harmony. Chapters discuss magick and its applications in love, life enhancement, and problem solving, as well as magickal candle gardens, tea potions, and more. Detailed instructions, specific incantations, detailed how-to's down to where one can easily obtain sesame oil or Tiger Balm, and much more make Spells For The Solitary Witch ideal for novice and experienced spellcasters alike.

Again we are presented with Ms. Holland's easy to read and follow style of writing. She lays her book out according to the kind of spells you may want to do, and lists her spells according to what you want to accomplish when working your spells.

I have to say her opening section, entitled :Before you Begin" is exceptional in explaining basic spellwork, what it is, what is magic, ethics when working magic, personal responsibility and terminology. This is an excellent reference on it's own and should be suggested to all beginning spellworkers as a point of essential reference. I wish Ms. Holland would have expanded this section, as she did it so well, but it does stand on it's own as a very good overview.

The sections on actual spellworking are divided into seven chapters, covering "Inner Work, "Goals, Hopes, Wishes", "Love", "Life Enhancement", "Problem Solving", "Magickal Candle Gardens", and "Tea Potions".

Each section has a selection of spells for various situations. Under "Inner Work" we find spells for acceptance, getting over it, even personal power talisman, a tool for building self-confidence. Each spell has complete instructions and directions on how to use the spells for each intent. A list of needs is followed by preparation and the actual spell working, which may include an incantation, ritual, and sometimes an "afterward" or review of what should be the focus and how you should react to the spellworking. With the Talisman, she discusses creating these talisman, the proper signs for you, day workings and correspondences, and all you would need to know to create and use a personal talisman.

Going forward into the various chapters, each chapter contains spells referencing the chapter title. In "Goals, Hopes, Wishes" we have spells for goals you wish to reach, spells for special wishes, interview charms; all with discussions on your intents to what you want to achieve and how to work the spell.

The "Love" section has workings for personal enhancement, to bring love into your life. The "Life Enhancement" chapter has spells for home blessings, abundance, fertility, joy, and protection to name a few. "Problem Solving" covers dealing with major mistakes, fearsome problems, problematic persons and hard times.

What I note in her spells is that when a spell calls for a "potion" as in her Tragedy Potion (for someone who has just encountered a tragedy in their life and you offer them this potion to help calm nerves and help them center and balance) the ingredients are noted and the appropriate cautions are given. In this case, she gives a recipe for a hot cup of cocoa, with some oil of peppermint. She notes "Note: this potion isn't for you if you are lactose-intolerant, allergic to chocolate or peppermint or have any medical reason that precludes its use." Wise words from a wise witch.

The book contains many notes of wisdom. "Magickal Candle Gardens" focuses on candle magic to assist persons in need. The garden is built indoors, containing candles arranged for your specific purpose and using candles of specific shapes and size depending on the needs. After going over the plans and the layout, it looks to be something even I would consider as a special magical working, being attractive, practical and very especially magical.

The last chapter is about "Tea Potions" specifically, and again, contains potions to work on yourself for specific situations you may encounter, such as personal health, luck, creativity and success to name a few. She works some of the potions with runes, others with chant. The only note I have here is that she did not repeat her good advice about being allergic to certain herbs, as most of these teas are herbal in their base. Please use your own digression when preparing these teas and if allergic, then look for a substitute.

Rose Love Amulet

Rose Love Amulet Cover

A ROSE LOVE AMULET

Items needed:

* One and a half cups of Rose petals
* Two cups of rose water or water
* Rose Essential oil
* Ylang-Ylang essential oil
* Rolling pin
* Small cookie cutter or very small glass
* Scissors
* Ice pick, Knitting needle or wooden skewer
* Medium enamel pot or Pyrex pot and lid

Start by snipping off and discarding the white portion of each petal. Focus on drawing love to you as you do this.

Drop the petals into the enamel pot.

Cover the petals with the rose water or ritual water. (Reserve the essential oil until later.)

Cover and slowly bring it to a simmer. Do not boil!
Simmer for a total of thirty minutes. Focus on drawing love to you.

Remove from heat, stir in some of the rose essential oil, then allow it to sit in the lidded pot overnight.

The next day, return it to the heat and repeat the process, adding more rose water or ritual water, if needed. (Add a few drops of rose essential oil.)

Do this for a total of three days.

On the third day, let it cook until it is a dryish mass. Let it cool a bit, then remove it from the pot and squeeze out the remaining fluid.

The rose mass should be able to hold its shape.
Knead in a few drops of Ylang-Ylang essential oil; concentrating on drawing love to you as you knead.

Divide the rose 'dough' in half.

Roll out one of the balls and cut with a cookie cutter.

With the ice pick, make two small holes to be used for hanging the amulet. If desired, etch in your sigil, a rune or other love symbol. (You can make the remaining dough into another amulet for a friend or to hold in reserve, as it will 'melt' over time.)

Set the amulet away to dry, for a week. Every night, gently turn the amulet to dry evenly. Focus on drawing love to you as you do this.

The finished amulet is a velvety grayish-black.

String it on a bit of yarn (so it reaches, when worn, to chest level.) Wear under your clothing, next to your skin.

Anoint with love drawing oil before meeting your lover, if desired.

This guide offers a beginner's look at the history of paganism, Wicca, and witchcraft, from the Druids and Celts to the witches of today who practice an earth-based religion, cast spells, and perform natural magic. The book, written by a practicing witch, reveals details of the witches' Sabbaths, ceremonies, and altars.

Don't get me wrong, fellow pagans, I recommend Cunningham' Guide for a solitary practitioner and other well known books. But sometimes it is easy to start from the very beginning. The Complete Idiot's Guide to Wicca and Witchcraft, does just that. It lays the foundation for other works (such as those by Cunningham) to contiune the way. It presents the information in an easy to understand and comprehend manner. It breaks down complex ideas and explains them to you one piece at a time. It also offers tidbits of information throughout the book that are fun and informative.

This book has gone on my top ten of books to recommend to new people. I also recommend this book to people wanting a refresher on Wiccan basics. Kudos!

Coven Spell

Coven Spell Cover
THE COVEN SPELL

The Coven spell is magical work performed within the circle
by the assembled Coven. It may be described as a battery of
wills, each person visualizing the thing that the Coven
wishes to bring about, concentrating on it and willing it
to happen.

Evidently, therefore, the object of the rite must be
decided before hand, and everyone must agree that it
should be made to come to pass. They must be earnest,
and keep their minds all the time upon their objective,
while the spell is being performed. The power of thought
is a very real and potent force, for good or for ill. It
can greatly be aided by visualization, either actual or
in symbolic form, of the thing one wants to come about.

Raiders Of The Lost Basement

Raiders Of The Lost Basement Image
When you buy a house, proverbially there is trash in the basement. Our house was no exception. The former owner had been due to come through and take it all away, but she had had to go out of town and delayed the cleanout until after Deb and I had moved in. On moving day, after the 15 foot truck had gotten unloaded in 45 minutes, I decided to look and see if there was anything of interest in the trash.

Old mattresses. Old wood scrap -- well, we can burn that in Larry's fireplace.
Old high school textbooks -- wants those. A couple of boxes of old
letters and junk... might as well look through that. A newspaper clipping from the 20s about Aleister Crowley? A carbon of something called AMRITA which appears to be an O.T.O. ritual for eternal youth? These boxes are worth looking at more carefully!

For those of you who led a sheltered childhood and did not dabble in the occult, a little background. Aleister Crowley was an infamous hedonist and the best- known magician of the early part of this century. He controlled several organizations at various times, probably the best known of which was the Ordo Templi Orientis, or the Order of Oriental Templars, known generally as the O.T.O. He is the author of many odd books including an autohagiography, and took for himself the appellation of '666', referring to the Beast from the Book of Revelations. He died in 1947. The O.T.O. is still around, and recently won a lawsuit against Peter Straub for misrepresenting them in one of his books.

I figured we might find a few letters from Crowley in the boxes: those would be of interest to almost any student of the occult, and I certainly wouldn't mind having one. They'd also be fairly valuable. So I hauled the boxes upstairs, and over the next few days I dug through them.

What I'd found were two boxes of papers relating to Karl and Sascha Germer. I'd never heard of them, but I soon discovered that Karl was Crowley's literary executor and the head of the O.T.O. after Crowley's death. There were letters from Crowley indeed; about half a dozen of them. More interesting were the dozens of file folders containing flimsy carbons of letters documenting a batch of rifts in the O.T.O., feuds which sound so much like AH, SWEET IDIOCY that it isn't funny. And most odd was what appeared to be three rituals in a strange handwriting, covering 65 sheets of paper.

The writing didn't look like the writing on the letters from Crowley. The envelope they were in (which was mostly disintegrated) had been mailed from England in 1948. But I thought they might be in the style of Crowley's automatic writing (writing guided by a spirit hand, which often looks different from a person's normal writing), and that there might be some reason it had been sent in 1948. So I started asking around to see if anyone knew what Crowley's automatic writing looked like. One person told me that there were a bunch of reproductions of it in the back of most editions of THE BOOK OF THE LAW, also known as LIBER AL VEL LEGIS, or LIBER AL for short. I decided that what I should do was copy the whole thing and look for a copy of LIBER AL to compare it with.
Before I could do this I had lunch with a friend of mine, and decided to ask a workmate of hers, Josh Gordon, about it.

I had known Josh was a member of the O.T.O. -- he'd mentioned it a couple of times in the store. So I just dropped a copy of the first six pages on his desk, and said "Do you know what that is?"

"Sure, it's a xerox of the manuscript edition of THE BOOK OF THE LAW."

"Gee, I have the original at home."

(pause)

"The... original?

"How much do you want for it? Oh Jesus, who can I tell? Do you realize that I'm an O.T.O. member, and I'm bound by law and by oath..." He rapidly became incoherent.

I was able to figure out that the O.T.O. had been looking for the original for more than 10 years; that it had not been among Germer's papers when he died;
that Josh really felt that he had to tell the secretary of the Order that it had been found; that it was stolen property; and that he was as freaked-out a human being as I have ever seen. He called the secretary from his office then and there, and without naming me told him that LIBER AL had been found. We arranged that I would meet with the secretary (Bill Heidrich) and Josh sometime after I had talked with Debbie and Larry about what to do with this stuff. Josh also said "There are people out there who would kill for that manuscript." I believed him.

So what do you do when you have a problem and need advice? You call your friends who know something about the subject. Now, we knew that Patrick Nielsen Hayden and Alan Bostick were knowledgeable about Crowley. So we called them that evening. After each had picked himself off his respective floor, they produced a lot of information that was rather helpful. Patrick produced the information that the book had supposedly been dictated to Crowley by the angel Aiwass in Egypt in 1904. Patrick also said that the one person connected with the O.T.O.
that everyone respects is Israel Regardie, Crowley's secretary for many years, who apparently manages to avoid fighting with anyone. Alan confirmed this, and said that finding that manuscript in one's basement was a bit like finding one of the Dead Sea Scrolls. THE BOOK OF THE LAW was the cornerstone book of Crowley's philosophy.

I was in a bit of a quandry at this point. It seemed to me that the letters and manuscript really belonged to the O.T.O., or at least that they had a strong moral claim to them. On the other hand, this was one of the most spectacular rare book finds I had ever made. I didn't want to just give it away to the first people who claimed it was theirs.

In mild trepidation, Deb and I decided to go meet Heidrich. We called Josh and arranged to meet at the store and drive over to Heidrich's house. We told Larry where we were going and that if he didn't hear from us by morning, he should take action. I packed up the first third of the manuscript and some of the financial records, and we headed off at about 9:00 PM.

It turned out that Bill lives in Marin County. We got there, and told the story and pulled out the section of the manuscript. Bill looked at it calmly, pulled out his copy of the printed manuscript edition, and confirmed, by checking stains and so forth, that it was the real thing; he then said, very calmly, "It is the real manuscript. I am shitting a brick." Josh said, "Wouldn't it be fun to tell everybody in the Order about this at once, and observe their reactions?"
Bill replied, "No, you can only watch so many bricks get shat before they obscure the audience." We talked about whether and when Bill should tell Grady McMurtry, the current Outer Head (in effect, president) of the O.T.O. Grady is an occasional customer of ours, and has heart trouble. They didn't want him to know until we'd worked out the details of returning it.

Bill seemed reasonable to us, but we didn't want to give up the manuscript without at least some checking with an outside observer. So we asked if they would mind if we called Regardie and asked his advice. Bill said, fine; but he's over 70 and lives in Arizona, so we shouldn't call him this late at night;
here's his number. We parted, all somewhat shaken by the speed with which things were going. Josh rode back with us, and we talked about O.T.O. history all the way home.

The next morning I called Regardie. I introduced myself, said Bill had suggested I call, and then said "I seem to have found the original manuscript of THE BOOK OF THE LAW in my basement."

"Oh, then you're a very lucky fellow!"

"What do you think I should do with it?"

"Well, you could keep it, or you could sell it..."

"I was thinking of giving it back to the O.T.O."

"That would be a very nice thing to do!"

"Well, if I were to do that, who should I give it to?"

"Well, X is a raving lunatic, and heaven only knows what Y or Z would do with it... Bill and Grady are really the only appropriate people. But what I'd like to know is, how did the manuscript get into your basement?"

" I'd like to know that myself. If I ever find out, I'll let you know."

"This is indeed a great day in thelemic history."

He was a very nice man, and the first person who acted as if he believed the thelemic doctrine, "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law." Since this is the way all good Crowleyites start their letters, and the most important tenet of Crowley's doctrine, it's nice to know one of them believes it!
(Actually, the "thou" refers to the divine self rather than the temporal, so it's not that easy, but I can't resist an occasional dig.) We exchanged a few more pleasantries, and I rang off and called Josh. He came over and got the manuscript, taking it to Bill who called Grady. It now rests in a safe deposit box the location of which is known only to three people, and I'm not one of them.

The rest is somewhat anti-climactic. The one lead we had as to how the papers got into the basement turned out to be false; we may never know. In among the papers we found the letters Crowley sent making Germer his legate in the United States, the original charter of the O.T.O. as given to Crowley in the 1920s, and various letters from Gerald Yorke about the manuscript of LIBER AL. One of the copies of AMRITA was annotated in Crowley's hand. There were also a large number of the original copyright forms for Crowley's books. The copyright papers and some of the letters from Crowley are going to be instrumental in a lawsuit the O.T.O. is fighting over who has the copyrights to Crowley's work. The repercussions of this in the local magickal world are going to be fun to watch.

I got to keep one Crowley letter, and the O.T.O. is going to give me some sort of a finder's fee and possibly some more money if the materials are displayed or published. And I got a story I can dine out on for a while. Estimates of the value of the manuscript range from the naive guess of several people of $10,000 up to an informed guess of $250,000+. With almost no Crowley manuscripts in circulation and the key nature of this particular work, your guess is probably as good as any.

But if I ever do find out how it got in the basement, I'll let you know!

All You Need Is Love

All You Need Is Love Cover
Love magick is the most popular and sought after magick in the world. A smooth functioning of the world needs love to grow among people. Love magick is known to build bridges of peace between people at war, the magick could be used to arouse peace and harmony in the world by acting on the conflicting nations of the world. This is how love magick could be of immense use. Magick can be used in this case to arouse the feelings of love and harmony among people replacing feelings of jealousy, enmity, and hatred.

Love magick can really work wonders on the entire world populace. It can make people more generous and kind towards their fellow humans. It can negate feelings of animosity and resentment. These are feelings that arouse when we use our powers of reasoning and logic. Love magick replaces these intellectual achievements by feelings of compassion and hope, because love changes everything in the world. Love magick is thus seen as the agent of change in the world.

Love magick operates through objects used as symbols for proper action of the spell. Talismans, potions and charms are the most commonly used in invoking love magick when desired. These objects are not merely the agents, but these represent the thoughts and ideas of the individuals in love.

A good relationship always involves some amount of compromise among the concerned people. Love is a bit different. Love does not need the person or persons to make a compromise or adjustments. Love needs a comfortable coexistence of the lovers. Love magick works on the individuals erasing the need for these adjustments and compromises.

This fact highlights the importance of the psychological outlook of the person casting the spell. This automatically means that the spell caster needs to concentrate on the object, visualize his or her goals, and act on the projections for love magick to be effective. The fact remains that the goals of all sorts of positive magic are spells cast for the purpose of love and the company of the other person. One wishes to be in the other person's company for a long time, and even for a lifetime. This is where love magick helps out people by preparing them for further interactions with each other.

True love between individuals is believed to identify the individuals with God. One feels so good that the earth is transformed into paradise. In some ways, love magick could go a long way into making people comfortable with their surroundings and such spells could be used to induce feelings of harmony.

People are guided by a flow of positive energy between the individuals. Love magick works by giving a definite direction to the energy. Your intentions and aims are thus given a definite flow by the use of love magick. The goal is then a lot closer this way. At the end of the day, the trick to make love magick work often is to practice it most often.

A Spell For Just A Little Nudge

A Spell For Just A Little Nudge Cover Tools:
Lighter
A pink candle
Musk oil
Pin
Marjoram herb

A small pink cloth with the words
"dream of me, be with me" on one side
and "just a little nudge" on the other

Little pink or red pouch
metal or glass plate

What to do: Cast the circle, call the quarters, the usual...
Dim the lights, leave a candle burning if you wish. Take the pink candle and anoint it with the musk oil while thinking of the intended. Scratch the name of the person on one side of the candle with the pin and the word love on the other. Place the pink cloth in the plate with the "just a little nudge" facing down. Light the candle and affix the cloth to the plate by letting hot wax drip on the corners of the cloth.
While visualizing your desire, use the wax drippings to form the shape of a heart in the middle of the cloth. Drip some wax in the center of it and place the candle there. With the candle burning, empower a pinch of marjoram by pinching it tightly between your fingers and feeling energy flowing into it.
Sprinkle the marjoram on the place touching the heart and candle. Let the candle burn down. Crinkle the hard pool of wax as much as you can while thinking of your desire. Take the remains of wax, marjoram and the cloth and put them in the small pink or red pouch.
Sleep with the pouch under your pillow and by using dream direction, allow yourself to dream of the intended (even if in the morning you don't remember the dream, don't fret, you probably dreamed of the person) Sleep like this for as long as needed until the day comes when you are going to meet the person.
Then, take the pouch with you. When you see that person, wait until the time is right. Close your eyes and touch the pouch. Feel it's power. Open your eyes and glance straight at the intended.

Binding Spell

Binding Spell Image
I have a binding spell done in the dark of night that worked extremely fast and very well.

Begin with a black banishing candle and some black crochet thread (unless you happen to have lots of natural spider web around, or a trained spider) and a black plastic spider.
Tie the end of the thread to the spider so that it can be used to wrap the string around a candle in a spiral, nine passes up then nine down. (This causes a candle to burn extremely high so make sure you don't work this near anything that can catch fire... like long robe sleeves or curtains or such.)

Annoint the candle with a suitable banishing oil, (something usually foul smelling unfortunately) Then begin at the base of the candle wrap the thread up the candle in nine passes, then back down. As you wrap upward use a modification of Bucklands knot spell.
By pass of one, the spells begun,
By pass of two, it cometh true,
By pass of three, so mote it be,
By pass of four, energy I store,
By pass of five, the spell's alive,
By pass of six, my will I fix,
By pass of seven, the energy I leven,
By pass of eight, it will be fate,
By pass of nine, what I will is mine.

As you pass the thread back down the candle in nine passes to cross the first, you may use this, or a variation on it. (Mine happens to be binding a female).
It should be done in the dark of the moon.

Weave the web, weave it tight,
Bind in anger, hate and spite.
Here beneath the dark of moon
Grant me my requested boon.
Bind the anger back to her.
Truth be told of the way things were.
Weave the web, weave it tight,
Bind in anger hate and spite.

Spider walk and spider weave,
Stress and worry take your leave.
Here upon this moonless night
Return the balance, set things right.
Laws of Karma come to bear
teach the lessons lying there.
Spider walk and spider weave,
stress and worry take your leave.

Snip the spider from the thread, knot it at the base of the candle. Then meditate as you burn the candle. (If you have had assistance from a live spider, please release it kindly after finishing.)

I do recommend you use this with caution. Be sure you are ready to take any lessons from Karma headed your way as well.

Stone Protection Spell

Stone Protection Spell Cover
Every home can benefit from protection. This spell employs one of nature's sturdiest objects, a stone. Choose a plain rock at least as big as your fist. Set it on your altar between a bowl of salt and a bowl of water. Behind these, light a black candle.

Sprinkle the stone with salt, saying: " I consecrate this stone with the purifying power of "

Sprinkle it with water, saying: " I consecrate this stone with the cleansing power of "

Pass it over the flame, saying: " I consecrate this stone with the attraction of flame to "

Finally, trace the image of an eye on the stone with your finger, and say" watch and guard around my home,

I invoke the strength of stone.

All evil thoughts be drawn within:

Strike here and leave me alone!

Blow out the candle; empty the salt and water outside. Keep the rock near your door. Once a month, when the moon is new, bring the stone doors. With an attitude of gratitude, lovingly wash the stone in warm soapy water to cleanse it, rinse it in warm salt water to purify it, and then with your finger retrace the eye on the stone and repeat the invocation. Return the stone to it's place by the door.

Herbal Magick A Witchs Guide To Herbal Enchantments Folklore And Divinations

Herbal Magick A Witchs Guide To Herbal Enchantments Folklore And Divinations Cover

Book: Herbal Magick A Witchs Guide To Herbal Enchantments Folklore And Divinations by Gerina Dunwich

Herbs can be used to cure or to curse, as well as to conjure or to banish supernatural entities. They can enchant our gardens and our homes, and guide us on the path to transformation and self-improvement. But, most importantly, herbal magick can open the door to spiritual realms and other worlds, and serve to connect a human being with Mother Nature and the Divine.

There probably exists no plant or tree that hasn’t at one time, in some part of the world, been used in a spell or potion, or utilized as an amulet. And it is said that all parts of a plant, whether they be roots, buds, flowers, stems, or bark, are magickally significant.

Herbs are Mother Nature’s gifts to all of humankind, regardless of spiritual beliefs, magickal tradition, or culture. And whether you pride yourself as a country Witch or an urban Pagan, herbs can reward you with a wealth of enchantment,
divination, and folklore. Blessed be!

As Above So Below A System Of Value Based Ethics For Wiccan Clergy

As Above So Below A System Of Value Based Ethics For Wiccan Clergy Cover

Book: As Above So Below A System Of Value Based Ethics For Wiccan Clergy by Ellen Friedman

This work examines the present state of Wiccan ethics and the social reality existing in many Wiccan communities. Mention is made of the high degree of congruence between the roles of clergy and therapist. The literature on professional ethics codes is reviewed for types, roles and effectiveness of current ethical systems. The work of C. S. Herrman an analytical philosopher, is examined. He developed a systematic method to bring spiritual belief and values into congruence with ethical practice. The APA's Code of Ethics is examined for standards that could be useful in a code for Wiccan clergy. Herrman's methods are used to define a template for a Wiccan value system and a code of ethics for Wiccan clergy.

Charms, Spells & Formulas is an excellent Introductory book for those who follow paths other than Wicca. In fact, I think that it is better suited for those who are interested in voodoo or some variant thereof. The one thing that I did not like about this book is that I wanted it to be longer! There is a wide variety of information and I feel that Ray Malbrough did an excellent job touching base on so many different topics. It contains associations on colors, herbs, candles, and more. It goes into a little detail about voodoo practices and the blending in of Catholicism. I highly suggest that readers who enjoyed this book check out Malbrough's "The Magical Power of the Saints," which goes into greater detail on the Saints than what was briefly touched upon in this book, along with explaining novenas and the 7 day candles. As a non-Wiccan Witch that practices the style of magic as presented in these books, I feel that both are excellent and are ones that I continually refer to.

"charms spells and Formulas" contains recipes that really helped me in my life. At the time, I was recently divorced and was in need of a part-time job to make ends meet. I had been applying for jobs all over town, for months, to no avail. I made the money drawing oil as listed in the book. Within the week, I got a new job. Some of the ingredients were hard to find but I own other books that suggest substitutions. I also tried the Sweet Bottle spell, and my love life is thriving!

Hoodoo is a tradition that is 200 years old. Within these pages you'll find the secrets of genuine Hoodoo and be able to put them to use! You can use Hoodoo to help get rid of illness and bring prosperity, find romance and get rid of bad luck. If you are doing any sort of magick at all, you'll find that the techniques in this book will powerfully enhance your magick. And if you're new to magick, you'll be surprised at just how successful the magick in this book can be. Are you ready to really make a change in your life? With the help of this book and some common herbs, you can do it. Get this book today!
